Anyways, time for another throwback Thursday shot and I am continuing with the wings in the air theme. This week is featuring Pixel, and this picture was taken in April 2014.

Throwback Thursday

This older picture of Pixel is one that always makes me smile, if not laugh. She was yawning, but it looks like I captured her mid-song. Again, one of my favourite pictures of her and it was taken in June 2011.

A Christmas present

Being totally unoriginal, I'm using the same title for this blog post as I did for a very similar one last year.

The Boy decided to get me another painting of one of the birds for Christmas, which made me very happy. Since we are going in the order in which we got each bird, it was Pixel's turn to be immortalized in painting form.

He went with the same local artist as all the other paintings, Frank Van Boxtel. I don't think I ever mentioned him in any of my other posts, a big oversight on my part, for anyone who is curious to see other pieces of his work, have a look at this website - franciscus.ca

The Boy said that generally Frank will look through pictures and will give an option of two for him to select for the painting but this time around, he selected this picture from the get-go - I guess it does show her belly well, and there is no yawning or self headscratching involved!

It's getting harder and harder to take a picture of her without her scratching. I miss the pictures of her yawning!

Wet birds

More than half of the birds decided to take baths on Saturday, under their own free will and in their water bowls. The result was birds with varying degrees of being wet. (Note: the pictures were taken with my cell phone, so quality isn't the greatest.)

1-Léa

Léa's baths are a messy affair; while she ever only manages to get her head wet (and even this isn't truly drenched), it is an entirely different story for her cage and the floor around her cage...those two things get soaked.


2-Joey

He's always been pretty good at getting wet. If I mist him, his whole body gets wet easily. But when it is as a result of him taking a bath, he pretty much only gets his belly.


3-Shade

I have a feeling she may have gotten the ball rolling for taking a bath that day. Her face and belly were pretty wet, and it looked like the top of her head had been more wet at one point, but was drying off.


4-Pixel

She was the one who remained the most wet. The feathers on her belly were properly drenched and so was the top of her head (which doesn't really show in this picture).
