Throwback Thursday

And we are continuing with pictures of birds with wings up, as part of Throwback Thursday. This is one of Léa before she even turned one, taken in January 2012. I do believe I may have other more recent pictures of her with her wings up that showcase a bit more colour on her wings, but I'd have to really search.

It's still funny to look back at pictures of her when she was losing the coral on her head (baby feathers) before anything else grew in.

This will probably be it for wings up in the air - as the ones I have for Petey and Piper, unless I manage to find ones I can't remember having taken, were posted recently in TBT entries about my favourite pictures of the birds.

I was going through pictures this morning, thinking of what I could use for throwback Thursday, and found this one of Shade, which is fairly recent (less than two years old) and gave me an idea for the next few TBT shots - favourite past pictures of the birds with their wings up.

Here is one of my favourite older pictures of Léa. She was doing a whole body shake, ruffling her feathers, and this little piece of down feather flew off of her and I caught it still mid-air. This was taken in November 2012.

This older picture of Pixel is one that always makes me smile, if not laugh. She was yawning, but it looks like I captured her mid-song. Again, one of my favourite pictures of her and it was taken in June 2011.

This may very well be my favourite picture of Joey - it even was used as the base image for the painting we had done of him! I took this one on his hatchday (March 14) back in 2010. He was turning five then, hard to believe he's already ten...

Throwback Thursday

I always enjoy looking at older pictures of the birds, and thought it might be good to share one once in a while. We will see if I will keep this up every Thursday, or every other Thursday.

Today's picture was taken almost eight years ago to the day. It was taken on November 8, 2007. Shade was just over a year and half at the time.

It is one of my favourite pictures of her, ever, and I'm sad I don't appear to have kept a high resolution version of the picture.

TBT - June 12, 2011

Earlier this week, I thought it might be fun to partake in Throwback Thursday and I had specific pictures in mind.

In June 2011, I got to see Léa in person for the first time. What I didn't remember, is that the visit was exactly three years ago today (June 12, 2011).

These pictures have already been posted on the blog, maybe more than once, but it's been some time since I posted them, so here they are again!
