Hidden colours
Red-bellied hens are often thought of more "drab" in colour comparatively to the males, with their bright orange belly, but I think drab is inappropriate. Their colouring is just more subtle, and varies more from individual to individual, unlike the males.
Some hens have more grey on their bellies, some have more orange and some have more green. I find Pixel has a nice balance of all three. But the true splash of colours happens under her tail!

279:365 - Shade
Much more cooperative than last week - although she would have none of trying to perch somewhere else than the atom!

277:365 - Pixel
She didn't want to stay put and was in the process of looking for where to go next. Love the feathers that are sticking out a little to the side.
For Saturday, October 4th.
276:365 - Overstimulated
Between the rings, the bell and all other dangling things, he didn't know what to go for first!
For Friday, October 3rd.
274:365 - Look at me!
And I let it happen again - a few days without a post. A little catching up to do!
For Wednesday, October 1st.
