I'm done!
Pixel, in the middle of take-off, showing that she is done with this taking pictures business. This picture wasn't planned, and is quite blurry, but I like how abstract it looks!

Once again, I wasn't really feeling like taking pictures and was also dealing with a bird who would rather be doing something else. Still, I tried to make an effort to have a picture of Pixel that looked different from what I had taken lately. So here we are, Pixel on my hand. It didn't last too long.
166:365 - Stand very still
Yesterday's picture.
When I took this, I think neither Shade or myself were really into taking pictures/having a picture taken. So her idea of just standing still worked out, as it made the whole thing very short.

165:365 -Léa
I'm really unoriginal when I comes to titles - I don't really have any imagination left, and I'm not even half way through the project.
Anyways, Léa was perched on the Boy when I took this. Makes for a different angle I guess!

Meticulous playfulness
A lot of my birds destroy things as fast as they can. Then there is Shade, who seems to be much more meticulous about how she does it, and generally ends up with the smallest pieces in her pile of destruction.
She'll generally break off a smaller piece to hold, and then will proceed to make that small piece even smaller. Most of the other birds would have let this fall down and moved onto another piece.

Another day where I had a hard time picking just one picture! And once again, it looks like Blogger is modifying the picture a little, this time it looks like the contrast got pushed up a little and the overall tone is more blue than I wanted it to be.

This picture amuses me! He was doing all kinds of weird poses this morning, but this one was my favourite!
TBT - June 12, 2011
Earlier this week, I thought it might be fun to partake in Throwback Thursday and I had specific pictures in mind.
In June 2011, I got to see Léa in person for the first time. What I didn't remember, is that the visit was exactly three years ago today (June 12, 2011).
These pictures have already been posted on the blog, maybe more than once, but it's been some time since I posted them, so here they are again!

Happy "Gotcha day" Pixel!
Today marks the fourth anniversary of Pixel joining the flock.
I was discussing this with the Boy last evening, and his comments were "yeah, four years and she still doesn't like me!"
She has a preference for me, it's true, but her relationship from the Boy is on better terms than mine with Petey.
Although there have been a few bumps this year (her aggression towards Shade having gotten worse, resulting in the Littles being broken into smaller groups when they come out of their cages), I'm still very happy about that decision four years ago to take her in. She's got spirit and is a hoot to be around.
No help needed
Léa was preening herself while standing on the computer desk in front of me. Eventually, in a moment of exuberance, a "floofy" (down feather) was sent upwards from her back. She saw it slowly coming down and proceeded to try and catch it. Watching this was rather amusing for me.
Eventually she caught it on the corner of her beak, and this annoyed her greatly. She struggled to try and get it off, so I offered to help. Mistake. My efforts were rewarded with a bite on the nail - and to anyone who never got bit hard on the nail, it hurts!
So I left her to deal with that down feather on her own, and a few minutes after, she came back towards me, head bowed down and all sweet and cuddly. I generally don't like associating human feelings with animals, but it did look like she felt bad for her previous action.

I added a few toys around the birdroom two days ago. Piper apparently still felt like he needed to keep an eye on them.

The spark
She's looking very cute here, but you can still see the spark of mischievousness in her eyes; she is planning something!

Someone really liked her raspberry!
That she kept a piece sticking around. When I first saw it there, I had a double-take, thinking she might have injured herself and there was dried blood. But no, it was dried raspberry, which came off fairly easily.
160:365 - Joey
Had a hard time picking between three pictures - he always makes the sweetest or either funniest faces!
