141:365 - Scritches

She has a lot of pin feathers growing around her neck area and it shows that Zuri isn't able to groom her quite yet. Not that I mind of course, I quite like helping her get rid of the dead skin that accumulates on the new feather as it grows.

Sunset Joey

Seems like the blog is all about Joey and Léa lately..

I love you

We were busy today so we figured that we would let Zuri out first (I took him out as the Boy was away) and then I would take Léa out while the little ones were out with the Boy, similar to our after work routine.

Anyways, as I went to let Léa out, probably feeling like I was late in doing so, she let out a "I love you" as I opened the door to her cage and offered my hand to her.

Very sweet!

Ruffles

Housewarming gifts

This is a long overdue post but in the midst of the moving activities, taking pictures of the birds was hard enough, taking pictures of other things fell low on the list of priorities.

But I fixed that today.

Back when I was in St-Charles/Chicago for TASC, I received a shipping notice that I was going to receive a package from Things for Wings which was news to me as I didn't order anything..I contacted Danita and was told it was a housewarming gift, from a secret person as well as herself and I wasn't to open it before I moved. I received my package the week prior to the move.

Then came time to open it and I got some nice Things for Wings toys!

It turns out the secret person was Merlie, a friend from the Avian Avenue forum who I got to meet in person at TASC.

The gifts from Merlie -

Carrot shred and chew

Carrot stew

Some May flowers foot toys

Finally, Danita's contribution, a willow snuggly.

Thank you ladies for all the wonderful toys!

Smiling!

♥

Look into my eye..

...I will hypnotize you!

140:365 - Léa Ruffles

I love when she gets all puffed up!

139:365 - Caught!

He was by no means doing something forbidden - in fact, it's quite ok if he wants to chew paper.
But he has such a look of guilt on his face..

Landing

He doesn't often show his rump, yet there are some beautiful colours hiding there.

138:365 - New feather-do

I had wet fingers when I decided to scratch his head last night during his hydrotherapy, to deter him from chewing up his collar.

Put your feet up in the air...

..like you just don't care!

(It seems to be a RB thing around here..)

137:365 - Puffed up Pete

In the midst of preparing for a good shake!

136:365 - Pixie

It's a bit trickier getting Pixel's colours right in the green room..specially when the sun is going down and she chooses to go in the brighter side of the room.

135:365 - Green

It seemed fitting that Shade would be the first bird of whom I took a picture of in the new green birdroom.

Now I cheated a bit with this one - it was taken a day later than it should have been. But with everything going on on the 14th, I totally skipped taking a picture so I took two on the 15th.
