Pixel
This might have been taken mid-preen or when she was about to make a "Red belly speech". Either way, it makes for a funny picture!

First outing of 2015!
Although my backyard looked like this just last Wednesday -
- today was a wonderfully warm and very Spring like day (finally!) and it was most definitively warm enough to bring the birds outside (about 19 degrees Celcius!)
Not everyone was thrilled, in fact, I'm quite sure Zuri felt like he was tricked to come outside and Petey and Pixel were also a little skittish, especially in the beginning, but I'm very happy everyone got to enjoy some sun without it being overly hot (like it will be this summer).
We were out there for about an hour, just so that they can start getting acclimatized to going outside again. I'll also add that I've very happy I got all these Kings aluminum travel cages (especially the 6 medium sized ones), as it is apparently impossible to find any of those in stock anywhere anymore.
Hopefully the weather keeps getting better and we'll be able to go out more frequently!

Avian Avenue Sidewalk Sale!
Avian Avenue is having a Sidewalk sale this week-end. I've been a member of Avian Avenue since its early days and at least once a year (sometimes twice), there is a sale that lasts a week-end where most members who also happen to be vendors will offer discounts.
If you click on the link below, you'll see past posts I've made about the Sidewalk sale or of hauls of items I've purchased during the sale:
Just Poifect - Sidewalk sale
Although I've taken a little break from posting (really) regularly on the forum (and the same can be said for this blog) due to being rather busy, Avian Avenue is the parrot-related forum I've been an active member for the longest and I would highly recommend joining.
The official thread about the sale can be found here:

Interpretation
He looks rather angry here, really upset about something and letting us know.
But, in reality, I simply caught him mid-yawn. He was not upset.

Hanging out in an unusual place
He does not typically do this (which is a good thing), not sure why he thought then that it would be a good idea.

Head scritches
Nothing quite like getting your head scratched by your favourite person (in this case, the Boy).
This was a very happy Petey!

Hey!
Léa is providing quite a bit of entertainment this morning.
As we are letting the birds out in different groups (currently on our second "round", which includes Joey, Pixel and Petey), she's keeping herself busy chatting it up to herself and Piper, Shade and Zuri in the birdroom. She's by far the most vocal out of the four, but not in an unpleasant manner; she is practicing her vocabulary, although we can't yet make out most of what she's saying.
But it appears at times she's finding it too loud herself and will give herself a stern "Hey!" - something we say if the birds are getting too noisy all at once (which is most likely because something specific set them off), are getting into a tiff (and this generally breaks it off) or are thinking of doing something they shouldn't be doing (like going places they aren't allowed, again, saying hey will put a stop to it).
On top of telling it to herself, if Zuri happens to let out what we call the "Meyer's call" (less pleasant that Léa's babble), she's been telling him "Hey!" as well.
The funniest part is when she does it to herself though; she'll get "loud", hey herself to be quiet, keep quiet for a few minutes and start over again.
